About Us
Our most popularly requested massage is our Swedish or therapeutic massage. This technique usually starts at the base of the skull then works down the body, focusing on areas that hold hidden emotions and pain, such as the hands, feet, and ears. Therapeutic massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress; and, to promote health and wellness. AMTA defines massage therapy as a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client.
Massage therapy improves functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems and may improve the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness. Massage involves holding, causing movement of soft tissue and/or applying pressure to the body.
Today our lifestyle shows a driving trend to alternative health concerns and the benefits of therapeutic massage can help alleviate the pain or discomfort of:
- allergies
- anxiety and stress
- arthritis (osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis)
- carpal tunnel syndrome
- circulatory problems
- depression
- digestive disorders, including spastic colon, constipation and diarrhea
- headache, especially when due to muscle tension
- insomnia
- reduced range of motion
- sciatic
- sinusitis
- sports injuries, including pulled or strained muscles and sprained ligaments
- tempro-mandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ)
We have a variety of spa treatments available. Each with their own therapeutic benefit. The client has the freedom to choose and combine aromatherapy scents as well as the type of treatment that would best suit their needs.
